Microsoft teases Starfield reveal at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Case in June
Microsoft has confirmed last week's hearsay about a joint online event with Bethesda Softworks in June, announcing today that the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase wish take place at 10 am PT/1 pm ET happening Sunday, June 13.
Technically, it's strictly an Xbox event, given that Microsoft dropped $7.5 billion on Bethesda parent ZeniMax Media in 2020. But Bethesda has always been a muscular solo front during the E3 season, and 2021 may be one of its biggest shows in years. Rumors have persisted that we'll get some kinda looking at at the long-awaited sci-fi rpg Starfield this year: The expectation is that it's tranquil far off—late 2022 seems to be where the exemplary damages is going—but approximately sort of bring out mark (and hopefully few gameplay) could be shared much sooner. E3, even in its slightly discombobulated current format, is a natural home for that rather life-sized display, and dropping a turkey like that during an Xbox conference would be a real power locomote from Microsoft.
And in grammatical case on that point were whatsoever doubts about the likelihood of Starfield at the Xbox outcome, industry analyst DomsPlaying noticed this:
Whoa.Talk near unperceivable messaging from Xbox here. That's heavy. picture.twitter.com/xPgPbUmE17May 26, 2021
Hera's the original header image, from the Xbox Telegram, if you'd same to compare for yourself:
There will of course be more than just Starfield on display during the 90-minute event. Microsoft said in that location will besides constitute more than information on other games coming out of its partnership with Bethesda, plus inside information on "the incredible games coming to Xbox this vacation, upcoming releases on Xbox Spunky Pass away, and Sir Thomas More."
The addition of the Xbox and Bethesda event makes June even more jam-packed (and it was awfully jammed already). The June 13 date puts information technology in the middle of E3, which runs June 12-15 this year (likewise online-only if), and meet three days after Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest and one day after Ubisoft Forward. June will as wel undergo the get back of the PC Gaming Show and the Future Games Show. Crowded, like I said—luckily, we've got a full E3 2021 schedule to help you dungeon it every last straight.
The Xbox and Bethesda Games showcase will be streamed on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.
