ECM repair in GTA?
If any of you drive 2001 to 2006 Nissan Sentras, you might have institute out that the ECM stops communicating at some point. I tried taking information technology apart myself and finding out if its an issue with the resistors since I have some soldering/excursion lath experience. Turns out their resistors are similar 1/iv the size of the normal ones I've dealt with in the by and I don't have a sensitive plenty Ohmeter/Multimeter to test if there are abnormal readings anyway.
Having said that, I have found some places on eBay that will have you send over your ECM and they will repair it for well-nigh $80 - $100. The thing is they're all in the US so shipping both means amounts to another $100 (maybe a fiddling less) and will have over a month to get back because they send via USPS (ugh, they're the worst with shipping times). I should also indicate out that a new factory ECM costs $1000 and I'm in the process of selling my auto so I know neither me or the buyer want to fork out that kind of cash for a 2001 Nissan Sentra.
Sooooo does anyone know if there is a identify in the GTA that repairs ECMs for Japanese models? If and so, what do they roughly charge? If y'all don't know the answer to the 2d question, contact info is a good start and I tin can become with that. These repair kits are normally just replacement solders so I just need someone who has the expertise and tools to do it for me. Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance

Phone call up Standard Auto Wreckers... they're a huge chain in Canada.
They recently bought an old yard in Ottawa and opened a pick north pull as function of the operation, which has a multifariousness of cars... and about 10 sentra's for parts...
Keep in listen, you lot demand to become the exact ane for your car... as there was 2 or three motor variations for those models.
Actually Standard has a pick'n'pull in TO;

Careful sometimes ECUs are VIN coded and won't offset unless it matches a few coded parts like the nuance, TCM or BCM. Or the keys need to be re-coded, when it's all said and washed you're close to just letting the dealer do it for $600-700.
GM & Toyota has a few units like this.
As for repair. Of all places look for places that can do motherboard repairs. I repaired a few Dashboards and OE radios and clock motherboards in my fourth dimension. Check the solder joint sometimes it'southward not the resistors that's burnt out just the solder joints need to reflowed with higher temp solder.

Thanks for the assistance everyone! Unfortunately, I take a risk by getting a used ECM from a wrecked Sentra considering this is a common problem in those models so I could substantially simply pick myself another faulty ECM. I bought one on eBay (from Speedotronix) that I could pick up from Concur. He explained the same issue with using a unlike ECM (unlike VIN on other ECMs used/refurbished). Every bit it turns out, he fixes faulty Sentra ECMs besides - so I left my current ECM (which but happened to be in my car)! Fixing my unit is actually the cheapest option so I'll come across how information technology works out on Mon.
