I ordered the new lower to the radiator with the new crimp (it IS different) from GM parts straight and received it yesterday at $38.55 to my door. That's yet cheaper than the $100 deductable I'd take to pay on the extended warrantee. Haven't installed information technology notwithstanding. Might exist a couple of weeks. How much DexVI will I need to replace?

It just all depends on how low your fluid level is when you first. I've only ever had to add a quart or ii at the most. I as well plug the fitting on the transmission when i supersede the lines to keep from loosing fluid. Some volition run out of the trans when you pull the line out. Not certain how long it volition continue to drain though.

Thanks Noah. I've never pulled one of those clip type lines apart before. What'due south your proceedure? I'grand kinda assuming I'll have to pull the airbox out to get to the bottom one.

Cheers Noah. I've never pulled 1 of those prune type lines apart before. What's your proceedure? I'm kinda assuming I'll have to pull the airbox out to become to the bottom one.
I do them from the bottom. I just become in between the inner fender and the frame, y'all will also need to remove the plastic deflector from underneath to gain admission from the underside of the lines. I use a pocket-size option to remove the wire clip from the plumbing fixtures (be careful with this considering the prune can go flying), Just piece of work the clip out of the slot. There is also a plastic clamp that holds both cooler lines to the side of the engine, its a chip of a PITA sometimes to go undone. One time you get the line undone on both ends you can pull information technology out towards the rear of the truck, information technology can be a fiddling tight getting the front end portion to come down by the lower radiator hose, but with a fiddling persuasion information technology will come out.

Well I went for information technology today. Pretty simple at the trans. Not so elementary at the clamp. I didn't desire to break it so I must accept spent an hour (seemed similar it) figuring that out. So information technology got ugly... Pulled the lower deflector and tied back the wheel well and reached up in at that place with a choice. Didn't see how I was going to get my manus far enough in at that place to put the clip back in. Looked around at how to get the snorkle out and the duct to give me some more room. Started to take the air box out and and so said to hell with it because I didn't want to get stuck working on it for 2 days. Put the old line back in the trans and re-attached the clamp. I'k a bit and a bit
but I actually recollect I'd demand to practise this one another manner since I don't have a hoist and from the floor it seems as well risky at the front. BTW, had the RF wheel and tire off also. Any ideas Noah? How practice I go the snorkle and duct out?
Give thanks You!

Yeah, it is kinda tight on the front. I've got pretty small hands and i do them all on a lift and so its a fleck easier for me.
Equally far equally removing all the airbox and stuff, just undo the clamps on the hose and give the filter housing a tug. Its just got some barbed plastic pieces that hold it down to the bracket underneath.

What'southward really in the way to do information technology from the bottom as I see it (also the radiator coolant inlet) is the air inlet for the turbo (at least I assume that's what the snorkle and hose are). If I could get that snorkle out of the way, I'd be good. Does that have to be removed from below the air box?
- #ix
Y'all're talking about the ii tubes with the tapered rubber pieces that come off the bottom of the air box correct? The easiest manner to get them out of the way would exist to just remove the airbox alltogether. Likewise, if i remember correctly they don't come off of the air box.

No, I'thousand talking about the plastic box that has a condom hose near 3" dia. simply above and slightly to the right of the lower radiator hose inlet going to the turbo housing casting at the right bank. I assume that'southward part of the turbo cooler excursion. Information technology'due south been a while since I felt so impaired and wish I had a digital photographic camera then I could accept taken a picture while I was nether there.

 Don't feel bad. lol I work on these for a living and I'thousand not even sure as to what you're talking about. Looks like I'm gonna accept to do some looking to effigy out what you're talking about.

I got a gamble to expect at 1 today. I see now what you are talking about. That is the outlet from the intercooler. There is a larger version of the metallic clips that concord the trans lines in that holds that piping on the intercooler. Just use a modest flatblade spiral commuter or something like that to take that clip out. You don't take to take the clip all the way off, just become information technology out of the groove. The pipe volition exist a tight fit to go on and off, but just be patient with it.

Ok. Once I pull the tube (hose/pipe) down there, practise you think the box it's connected to will pop out of there pretty easy? Thinking of taking some other stab at it this Sun. Really the hose being out of there volition probably give me plenty room to attain around the box snout. I'm sure it'll be a bit tight with 85 k miles on it.
- #xv
Once you get it loose everything should come up out fairly easy. Simply brand sure to use lots of lube when putting information technology back together.
